Providers
Providers are those users that are available to perform work task on behalf of Requesters. The providers performing the work tasks may be personnel within your own company or
from the Dynamic Outsourcing System full base of available providers.
Provider Functions
Select Queues
Once registered, a provider begins by selecting queues which represent the type of work tasks they wish to perform. The queues available for selection by a provider are a composite of
all queues which have been selected by all requesters.
View Request
This is where a provider looks for work tasks. This page displays all request for work tasks for the queues the provider has selected. From here a provider can delete queues, display
information about the queues, display the requesters instructions and source material for a queue entry, and bid on a queue entry.
Manage Bids
Allows the provider to monitor the status of the bidding process. A provider may update their bid price or remove their bid altogether if they are not longer interested.
Process Assigned
When a provider wins the bidding process or is otherwise selected to process a queue entry, a queue entry is added for the queue on this page. From here the provider initiates and
completes processing for a queue entry.
Reject Feedback
If a requester rejects a provider’s work product for a queue entry, and entry is added here. The provider may view the requester’s rating, reason, and feedback comments.
Providers first select queues for projects they wish to bid for assignments. They can then view request on their selected queues and bid on them. Once they have bid on a project(s), they
can manage their bids until bidding is complete and assignment has been made. They have another location for all projects that have been assigned to them. From there they can communicate with the
Requester if they have questions or additional information is required.
Provider Rating
Your provider rating is your reputation on the Dynamic Outsourcing System. Do not treat it
lightly. You should only bid on work tasks (queue entries) when:
- You are competent to perform the work task
All queues by default only allow providers with a rating of five (5) or greater to bid on work tasks on the queue. Your provider rating for a queue is the average of all your assigned
work tasks for the most recent sixty (60) days. If on your first assigned work task for a queue you get a rating of less than five (5), you would be prevented from bidding on another task on that
queue for sixty (60) days.
- You intend to respond in a timely manner when a work task is assigned to you
Once a queue entry (work task) is assigned to you, you should respond by completing the work task in a timely manner. The requester, at any time after an assignment has been made, may
choose to cancel the assignment and assign it to another bidder or rebid the task. Requesters normally do this when the assignment has been outstanding for too long. When a requester cancels an
assignment, by default the provider is rated a one (1), the lowest rating for that work task. So, if you bid on a queue entry, monitor it closely to see if you get the assignment. If you get the
assignment, perform the work task in a timely manner.
Tutorial
It is strongly recommended that you go through the Tutorial before you begin to utilize the system. The tutorial opens in a separate window so that you can switch back and forth between it and the system window. The tutorial explains the terms and notations used in navigating the Dynamic Outsourcing System site and will save you time and frustration in using the system. The tutorial will also give you an invaluable system perspective as both a requester and a provider.
