Why use the DOS

Why use the Dynamic Outsourcing System?

The Dynamic Outsourcing System allows Requesters the capability to post projects (work task) and have Providers bid on them. Competitors to the Dynamic Outsourcing System provide the similar capability, but the Dynamic Outsourcing System is more than a website where you post your projects and have people bid on them. The Dynamic Outsourcing System is a system for initiating, monitoring, managing, tracking, and reporting on projects (work task). The Dynamic Outsourcing System was designed as a system for small and medium sized businesses to provide an easy way to accomplish their outsourcing needs. There are two (2) major ways the Dynamic Outsourcing System is used:

  1. In-house work and projects
  2. A Requester can set their QUEUE PREFERENCES for each QUEUE. By setting a QUEUE PREFERENCE to provider preference=yes and adding their preferred providers (in-house personnel or other providers) to their list of preferred providers, the Dynamic Outsourcing System will not bid the work task. Rather it will assign the work to one of the providers in the list. The requester may also control how the work is assigned to providers in their list.

  3. External work and projects
  4. Using the default QUEUE PREFERENCES settings, projects (work task) will be bid out to all providers on the system.

As an example of how the above two (2) capabilities might be used, consider a Medical Transcription department in a hospital or medical center.

  1. One Requester has their QUEUE PREFERENCES for all their medical transcription queues set to provider preference=yes. This requester is used to assign and manage all in-house medical transcription.
  2. Another Requester uses the default QUEUE PREFERENCES so that work may be bid out to other providers. This requester manages the overflow (excess work the in-house department can’t handle) by bidding it out to other providers on the system.

In the above example, the combination allows the department to manage all of their work easily via the Internet without having outsourcing contracts, service level agreements, and the other overhead normally associated with outsourcing. Best of all, using the Dynamic Outsourcing System for managing in-house work is FREE.  As a Requester, the interactive bidding process should provide the competition between providers to drive down the prices for your work more than the static bidding some others utilize. As a Provider, the interactive bidding process makes for a very competitive environment. The primary way to distinguish yourself as a provider is by performing high quality work in a timely manner and achieving high ratings from requesters.
