Requesters
Requesters are those wishing to have projects or work task accomplished by Providers. The providers performing the work tasks may be personnel within your own company or from
the Dynamic Outsourcing System full base of available providers.
Requester Functions
Select Queues
Once registered, a requester begins by selecting queues which represent the type of work tasks they wish to have accomplished by providers. They also have the opportunity to vote
on potential queues to be included in the system at a future time.
Manage Queues
This is where requesters will spend the majority of their time on the system. Here you add work items to queues, monitor the progress, review output from providers, rate their work
products, download their output to your PC, etc.
Requesters first select the queues where they wish to add projects. When adding projects, they can upload a file from their PC with the project description and also upload an input file
associated with the project. They then
manage their projects from start to finish from one place. They can communicate with the assigned Provider via an internal mechanism, rather than email, when questions or additional information is required.
Once the Provider has completed the project the Requester reviews the work and either accepts or rejects it. They rate the Provider on a scale of 1 - 10, where 10 is excellent. The
Provider ratings are used in selecting Providers for future assignments.
Tutorial
It is strongly recommended that you go through the Tutorial before you begin to utilize the system. The tutorial opens in a separate window so that you can switch back and forth between it and the system window. The tutorial explains the terms and notations used in navigating the Dynamic Outsourcing System site and will save you time and frustration in using the system. The tutorial will also give you an invaluable system perspective as both a requester and a provider.
Internal or Selected Providers
You can set up your queues so that only the providers you desire can process request on a particular queue. Each queue has a feature called Queue Preferences. Using these Queue Preferences,
you can control many aspects of the queue processing, among them; The providers which can process request for a queue. If you want internal personnel or selected providers to process a queue, then you
can set up the queue so that only a list of providers which you specify can process request on the queue. This is the way you want to set your queue preferences if you only want internal personnel within
a company to process the work tasks. There is no bidding for the queue work tasks when this options is set. You even have control over how the providers are selected:
- Round Robin cycles through the list assigning each provider in turn.
- In Order always starts at the top of the list when assigning providers.
The system checks to see if a provider is logged on to the system, and gives them priority within the selection method you choose. This reduces the possibility a queue
request will be assigned to someone working another shift or someone who may be on vacation.
System Providers
The system default for all queues is to allow all available providers with a rating of 5 (five) or greater the opportunity to bid for work tasks. You may alter your Queue Preferences
for each queue to tailor this and other criteria.
